About the wizard

Hello! Thanks for taking a look at my blog. I post about a lot of cool things here, so I'm sure you'll find a section or a post worth reading. 

I'm Xavier Golden, currently in my last year of GVSU's Art Education program, where I'm taking classes and completing my Teacher Apprenticeship. I love drawing (especially comics), playing board games, and taking walks on the beach. 

I titled this blog (which is indeed my professional web presence) "Responsible Wizardry" because of a specific exercise I did in a class, where we were supposed to write metaphors about teaching. I wrote something about baking because I worked at a local bakery in high school. 

But after reading about how a teacher's language and expectations can affect students, I started thinking about the power of words and how important it is to use those words wisely. Good teachers are like responsible wizards; your Gandalfs and your Dumbledores. 

I also titled this blog "Responsible Wizardry" because I very much wanted to draw myself as a business casual wizard, which I have in fact done.
